Foreclosure Investing: Waiting Might Be Better
Although the current condition of the housing industry can be described as bad, there is certainly some silver lining. For instance, home buyers and investors who have been looking to enjoy some savings are delighted with the investment opportunities that foreclosure properties offer. Of course, the decision whether to buy now or wait has been plaguing the minds of these investors.

It is a known fact that the lenders are in a bit of limbo over several issues that have cropped up along with the foreclosure crisis. For starters, they have been forced to review their lending guidelines since it has been cited as one of the reasons for the subprime mortgage mess. Most lenders have decided to tighten their underwriting policies, to the dismay of many borrowers, in order to avoid the same mistakes. For this reason, inventory of properties for sale continued to grow and home prices continue to decline.
When it comes to the troubled borrowers looking for a solution to avoid foreclosure, it has also become a problem for these lenders. Buyers who are involved in a short sale agreement often find themselves losing money, in terms if inspection and lawyer fees, because the deal fell through. In most cases, the lenders are to blame because they were having problems managing the sales properly.
In addition, lenders are having difficulties dealing with troubled borrowers. Even with the constant pressure to approve loan modification requests, many lenders are stubbornly refusing to do so for reasons unknown to the public. With more and more homes entering foreclosure, many buyers are deciding to wait until the market hits rock bottom.
All these things will indeed make you think twice about investing in foreclosure properties. But without a doubt, these repossessed homes will provide you with considerable savings. The only problem is if it is the right time.
